FICTION PLANE Schedules Special New York Performance For February 27, 2009
For Immediate Release:
FICTION PLANE Schedules Special One-Off New York Performance in February
Band Anticipated To Preview New Material from Forthcoming Album
For power trio FICTION PLANE, the work is never done. Having toured the world with The Police for one and a half years, as well as tours with 311, Snoop Dogg, and The Bravery, the band is once again back in the studio, writing and recording material for its 2009 opus.
Taking a slight break from the sessions, FICTION PLANE has scheduled a special performance at the renowned Arlene’s Grocery in New York, NY on February 27th. Fans will have an opportunity to catch up with the band, which has not performed a headline show in New York since November 2007. In addition, the band plans to preview material for its currently untitled forthcoming studio album.
Known for its high-energy, alternative groove-rock, FICTION PLANE is eager to usher in the next chapter in its storied career. Says drummer and NY resident Pete Wilhoit, “although we’ve never performed at Arlene’s before, we’re really excited to give them our first show of 2009. We hope to see some fans brave the cold and come out for some hot and sweaty rock!”
Located in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, Arlene’s Grocery has played host to a number of bands that went on to cult and legendary status, including The Strokes, The Violent Femmes, Dashboard Confessional, and R.E.M. FICTION PLANE is definitely among good company.
Singer/bassist Joe Sumner colorfully expresses his excitement. “We've been freezing our butts off down in the Lower East Side kicking out jams for our upcoming album. After the initial gestation period it's time for an ultrasound from all the FP fanatics. Live at Arlene's Grocery; the debut of a dozen fresh eggs. This is the first time we've combined rock with lettuce and the dawning of a new era for FP.”
Details of the performance include:
